Your Learning Journey
Four, live, weekly online lessons carefully structured to unlock your potential.
Foundations
In lesson 1, we orientate ourselves to our classmates, the RocketHour platform and our primary tool: VS Code.

In lesson 2, we experiment with the best techniques for prompting simple websites into creation and practice editing the code via a text editor.

CodeQuest costs R1600 for the series of four lessons (R400 per lesson). THere is an (extreme) early bird discount of R1200 for signups before 19 August.
Students in Grades 5-9.
Experience is helpful but not necessary. The second part of the application process sorts students into tracks based on their ability level, ensuring everyone gets the right level of challenge.
CodeQuest takes place during the first four weeks of September 2025, with one lesson per week.
The final deadline is 26 August 2025 at midnight.
You'll need a laptop or desktop computer with at least 4 GB RAM, a modern browser (Chrome or Edge), and stable internet (≥ 10 Mbps). You can test your internet speed at fast.com - simply visit the website and it will automatically test your connection speed. No special software needs to be purchased; we'll guide you on any free tools required.
The AI CodeQuest is entirely online. You can participate from anywhere in South Africa, provided you have the necessary equipment (see "What equipment do I need?").
Four lessons held at a fixed time each week for four weeks. Lessons are expert-led in small groups to ensure everyone gets personal attention and support.
You'll learn how to build websites with the assistance of AI tools like GitHub Copilot, how to write effective prompts, use basic HTML & CSS for web structure and styling, create a product brief for your ideas, manage files, and understand the capabilities and limitations of AI in development.
You will be able to independently build and host simple websites with the skills you learn.
